Privacy Policy

UPZY is operated by UPZY (India). If you have any question about this policy or your information, contact us at support@upzy.in.

UPZY is designed for school students, including children under 13. Students cannot sign up on their own: every student account is created by their school or teacher, who provides the student's details and is responsible for obtaining any consent required from parents or guardians.

• We collect only the information needed to run the learning service.
• We do not show advertising and we do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell personal information or share it for marketing.
• We do not use children's information to build advertising profiles.
• Parents and guardians can review or delete their child's information at any time (see section 8).

Account information (provided by the school or teacher):

• Name
• Email address used to sign in
• Password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form)
• Class / standard and section
• Profile photo (optional)

Learning activity (created when the student uses UPZY):

• Pages read and reading progress for each book
• Quiz answers, scores and attempts
• Bookmarks, points, badges and completed missions, including any optional note the student writes

Reward orders (only if a student redeems points for a reward):

• Delivery phone number and address
• Optional note to the teacher
• The items ordered

Technical information:

• A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in (it expires after 7 days)
• Standard server logs (IP address, browser or device type, pages requested and time), kept for security and troubleshooting

The UPZY apps do not collect your location, contacts, device identifiers or advertising ID. The app only uses your camera or photo library when you choose to upload a picture, and only the picture you choose is sent.

• To provide the service: sign-in, showing assigned books, saving progress, quizzes and rewards
• To show progress and quiz results to the student and to their teachers and school administrators
• To send account and progress emails, such as login details and book completion reports
• To deliver rewards the student has redeemed
• To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems

• The student's school: teachers and administrators can see their students' information and activity.
• Service providers who help us run UPZY, such as our hosting provider and the email service used to send account emails. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Teachers can use AI tools (Google Gemini) to create quizzes from book content. Only the text of the book is sent for this; student information is not.

We keep account and learning information while the account is active. When an account is deleted by the school or at your request, the account and all related learning activity, reward orders and photos are removed from our systems within 30 days. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Access to student information is limited to the student, their school's teachers and administrators, and the UPZY team when needed to support the service.

Students, parents and guardians can ask to see, correct or delete the student's information. You can ask your school, or contact us directly. To delete an account and its data, follow the steps on our Account Deletion page.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for important changes, let schools know before the changes take effect.
